Statement of Intent V.02

In the age of the Internet of Things, objects are in a point in time where their ability is transcended beyond the given purpose. It has evolved into new species that co-exist in the human ecology. However, from an anthropological perspective, there is only a few “races” exist. The idea of the word “consumer electronics” narrows its development toward a business driven path. This motive defers its evolution to favor human interests and profits. My area of interest is to invert the idea of a business-driven usage of consumer electronics by reposition its social orientation, pervert the sales-orientated purposes, experiment with alternative functions influenced by the changes of human behavior and to create a broaden biodiversity of its kind.
When camera was first invented, the technology was an imitation of a human eye. It achieved beyond human’s capability to preserve special moments in time and space. However, the evolution remains unchanged ever since. To exanimate the entire spectrum of the consumer electronics ecosystem, the results lead me to the inquiries of following. “How might camera see the invisible connections instead of photos?” “What metamorphosis of human behavior will generate alternative usages of a camera? “What other elements contain patterns that we can listen through a music player?” “What uncountable elements can a calculator compute?” “What behavior changes influenced by cell phone will influence the development of the device?”
Coming from a background of GUI, UI, IA and UX design in the field of consumer electronics. I am obsessed with new electronics, gadgets, mobile appliances, its applications and interfaces. It further leads my interests in the relationship and emotions between human and consumer electronics, human-computer interaction and behavior changes influenced by the affordances.
